BusRoute Driver ("the app") is a companion app for school bus drivers of schools
using the SchoolHub platform. This policy explains what data the app collects and
how it is used.
Data we collect
Account information — the username and driver name issued to you
by your school. Accounts are created by school administrators; the app has no
public sign-up.
Precise location (GPS) — collected only during your
school's configured bus pickup and drop-off time windows, including in
the background, and sent to your school's SchoolHub server so authorized school
staff and parents can see the live position of the school bus. Location is never
collected outside those windows, on days off, or on school holidays.
Trip telemetry — speed, GPS accuracy, and device battery level,
sent together with each location update to help the school monitor route
quality.
How your data is used
Location and telemetry are used solely to provide live school bus tracking to your
school and the parents of students on your route. Data is transmitted over HTTPS to
the SchoolHub server operated for your school. We do not sell your data, we do not
share it with third parties for marketing, and the app contains no advertising and no
third-party analytics.
Data storage and security
Your sign-in credentials are stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain.
Communication with the server is authenticated with short-lived tokens over HTTPS.
Location history is retained on the school's server according to the school's
data retention rules.
Your choices
You can stop all tracking at any time by logging out of the app or disabling
location access in iOS Settings.
To access, correct, or delete your data, contact your school administrator,
who manages driver accounts and location records.
Children's privacy
The app is used by adult school bus drivers only. It does not collect any data
from or about children.
